Abstract

This article examines the incorporation of parishes into religious institutes in the light of parish structural changes brought about by current social developments in Austria and the resulting changes in pastoral conditions. In the Austrian dioceses, the incorporation of parishes into religious institutes and the associated contribution of the religious institutes to parish ministry have significantly shaped parish structures. This also applies to the Diocese of Linz, whose parish structural changes in the course of the “Zukunftsweg der Diözese Linz” provide a concrete practical example.
